    Question: Why does the exclusivity expire before the patent?

    Answer:

    Patents can be expired before drug approval, issued after drug approval, and anywhere in between.




    Question: No method of identification is allowed within the applicants drawing

    Answer:
    No names or other identification will be permitted within the “sight” of the drawing, and applicants are expected to use the space above and between the hole locations to identify each sheet of drawings. This identification may consist of the attorney’s name and docket number or the inventor’s name and application number.




    Question: How do I find out if I need patent, trademark and/or copyright protection?

    Answer:
    Patents protect inventions and improvements to existing inventions. Copyrights cover literary, artistic, and musical works. Trademarks are brand names and/or designs which are applied to products or used in connection with services.
